Hi guys! 

I wanted to tell you a little bit about the meaning behind "Jay's Saddle Oil". A product I created that I hold very close to my heart. 

I created Jay's Saddle Oil in honor of my dad, Jay, who passed away September 12, 2023, unexpectedly from a heart attack. The tragic loss has left a hole in our family larger than we ever could've imagined. For me, my dad was the reason that I loved the ranch lifestyle so much. As a little girl always tagging along with him alongside my mom and brothers, creating memories that none of us will ever forget. He is missed everyday by so many but will never be forgotten. The legacy that he leaves behind is a lifetime of unconditional love and his love and passion for the ranch and the western lifestyle.

My dad helped me create Montana Made Meats back in 2021 selling beef locally. In 2023 I started making tallow and I remember my dad watching me make it and saying, "this is something that could be big". Anyone that knew my parents knows they are the most supportive, loving, caring humans to everyone they meet. To honor my dad somehow with my business I wanted to make a saddle oil - I can't say that anything I make or do will ever fully honor him in a way that he deserves because he was just that kind of person; larger than life and an inspiration to many by the way he lived life, but here I am trying my best!

I wanted to make a saddle oil because some of my very favorite memories as a little girl were spent in the saddle riding with my dad. I remember one spring/summer in particular I'd get off the bus and go to my grandma's house (where the horses were kept) and he'd either have the horses saddled waiting or we'd go saddle the horses and head up to our forest lease to chase cows. I learned a lot during these afternoon rides with my dad, the importance of independence and problem solving, how to think for myself and never get worked up over a minor inconvenience because chances are it really wasn't that big of a deal anyways. Memories that I'll never forget.
